As a result of all the effort and support from Abergele Residents we submitted a group objection at the beginning of July with nearly 1700 signatures, Abergele Town Council submitted one with over 600 signatures and our AM (Darren Millar) and MP (David Jones)also submitted objections on on our behalf.
A big thankyou to everyone who contributed to the fighting fund. We collected enough money to cover the Planning Consultant bill and all of our printing costs for the leaflet, posters and placards.
We now need to wait and see if all of this effort has had any effect - we don't expect to hear anything for a couple of months at least. As soon as we hear anything we will post it on the blog.

building on playin fields shouldnt happen i agree with this. however, building some nice houses on the field in that picture shouldnt be protested, the only people this will effect are those on the edge of the field.. no one has the right to a view. i am guessing the field is privatly owned so therefore access to it is prohibited so that also wont effect anyone. a few nice houses will be good for abergele
ReplyDeleteThere are enough houses around Abergele, which are up for sale. Need to think of the infrastructure for drains, services, etc. Road network would have to be rethought. If they try to divert up tan y gopa road, homes on that route, would lose some of their gardens to that route being made wider. We dont need any more house's or road upsets in Abergele.
ReplyDeleteJust as any town Abergele is in a state of growing, will we allow it to grow and prosper or will we through our own selfish wants be in the way. The proposed building of the new road and houses in Abergele is what it needs to stay alive in this new fast growing world. The number of people how would benefit from this proposal via jobs it will create or for first time buyers having an opportunity to get on the property ladder in what could soon be an upcoming area. The road to will reduce congestion through the town which is much needed and the potential new vendors would bring trade back. The people of Abergele are in the majority older and set in their ways; the proposed areas are almost never seen or used at the moment. I know because I have lived her a long time and never visit these places as they are isolated, hard to get to, out of reach for the majority and unseen from almost any habituated are in this town. I only wish in the current climate people would look and see that thing are not as clear as black and white and they must let go of the grasp they hold over Abergele before they choke it.
ReplyDeleteIf places never expanded we would be in a worse state than we are currently in, the building trade is the catalyst for growth in any region, be it retail or regeneration etc. It must get moving again to provide much needed homes, work, wealth and to inshore that Abergele does not fizzle out to the point of driving people away to other local areas hence become a has been town.
I’m one of the people how would like to buy in Abergele but there are no properties available that would accommodate me and my family, so we have now begun looking in other areas, as many people I know have!!
